Scagarty Music
Scagarty Music specializes in music copying/engraving, transcriptions, and arrangements for brass music. As a trumpet player and teacher, I've put my knowledge of the innerworkings of brass instruments to good use. You can hire Scagarty Music to do music copying and engraving as well as arrangements in just about any style of music for any instrumentation.
Scagarty Music was formed early in 2006 during Scott Hagarty's graduate studies at the University of Minnesota. As a joke, Scott decided to combine his first and last name and put it at the bottom of one of his arranging/transcription class projects as a faux-publishing company. The name ended up being more catchy than he anticipated, and by the recommendation of friends, Scott decided to use it for his real company name. Since then, Scagarty Music has provided engraving and arranging services to many private clients across the Twin Cities Minnesota area, as well as Makemusic, Inc.
Arrangements
Scagarty Music can take any existing piece of music and arrange it for any instrumentation, although Scagarty Music specializes in brass arrangements. Scagarty Music understands how difficult it can be to track down a copy of that perfect piece of music for the big day. Wouldn't it be nice if you could just tell someone "I want to have this piece of music performed at my event, by these musicians...but I can't find the music for it anywhere, can you just write the song out for this instrumentation?" Well, look no further. For example, if you hired a brass quintet for your event to perform standard works for brass quintet, but also had a special song you wanted to be played that wasn't a brass quintet piece, then we can arrange that song for the same brass quintet.

Copying and Engraving
Music has entered the digital age, and hand-written manuscript scores are becoming less desirable. Scagarty Music can be hired to do copying and engraving. We use the Finale Notation program for all of our work as it allows us the most flexibility in our copying and engraving. This ensures that we produce the most high quality engraving possible. Due to the high quality of work Scagarty Music produces, we have been providing engraving services to Makemusic, Inc (the makers of Finale) since early 2008.
